Solana is a lifestyle property management company and experiential brand, focused on giving people a better quality of life through both property and lifestyle management. By uplifting properties to enhance the overall living experience, Solana merges the best of community living, services, and technology.
Redefining the brand’s business model gave us an opportunity to create a new brand experience, brand design and set the new operational standards through service design. Solana’s ecosystem addresses the residential requirements of the tenant community while enriching their lifestyle experience by providing living services, amenities, entertainment programs, events, activities, and facilities.
REINVENTING PROPTECH COMPANIES
Understanding the shift conventional property management companies are doing to adopt technology and reinvent themselves as proptech companies, we felt the focus was still on managing properties. It wasn’t enough; we knew that people lived in these properties and their lives and livelihood depended on the experience they had when they came home.
We strongly believed that we needed to create value beyond technology or property management services; we needed to redefine the lifestyle experience for tenants while leveraging technology to facilitate that experience.
A VALUE ECOSYSTEM
Finding the right brand name to set the foundation of the new experience, Solana came from the word “Sol”, conveying the feeling of the sun, specifically when its rays cover the earth; it brings warmth. The warmth Solana brings brought with it the design of a new value ecosystem, one where people living within Solana properties would begin to share together as one community.
For us, it was clear that the technology we were developing to enable the Solana community had to recreate the feeling of a single community, of neighbors who live together and thrive in a single neighborhood, the Solana virtual neighborhood.
Beginning with research with the current tenants of Solana, it was clear that the full design of services & technology needed to address the priorities of all property tenants; however, the need for inclusion as a community was also clear. Tenants felt they would like to know & interact with their neighbors; they stated having more interactive and engaging relationships with their neighbors would enhance the overall quality of life and make them feel more at home.
Also, tenants had a need to know what amenities are around them in their neighborhood. They needed services beyond home fixes & maintenance.
With the tenant research findings, benchmarking & design insights, our Solana business model began to take shape and the brand came to life.
The Transition from Property Management to Lifestyle Management
Solana’s ecosystem today is housed under Solana Holdings. The company has three main subsidiaries that focus on delivering service excellence;
Solana Living - focuses on property management services such as maintenance and facility management, and provides the tenant app for a single virtual neighborhood with hundreds of lifestyle experiences exchanged across the various properties in Riyadh, KSA.
Solana Leasing - focuses on facilitating all the leasing activities like property listing, tenant screening & rent collection. Solana Leasing also has a leasing site that showcases all the Solana properties for lease, along with 3rd party properties that deliver the same standards as Solana Living.
Solana Development - focuses on all the contracting activities like building refurbishment, repairs, and environmental design to ensure that every property is at the Solana standard of living.
Transitioning from a traditional property management company into a lifestyle management company with a virtual neighborhood, Solana is a virtual community catering to everyone who is part of it. By just being part of the Solana community, tenants can start forming a connection with one another as neighbors through a shared platform, where everyone belongs.
